Many people assume that the only reason to go to Walt Disney World in Florida is for the four major theme parks. While these parks are the main draw of the resort area, there are two excellent water parks located at Walt Disney World in Florida as well. If you are looking for a change from the major theme parks, you can spend a day or two at these two excellent water parks.

The first water park at Walt Disney World in Florida is Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. This water park features a wide array of water rides and attractions. There is a lazy river where you can take an inner tube around as much as you want. There are sandy beaches to play in. There are several water chute rides for the more adventurous as well. There are several things that you can do during your visit to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. Perhaps the main attraction at this water park, however, would be the large wave pool. Located near a giant ship wreck which is the icon of the water park, the wave pool features large waves at certain times of the day. The depth of the pool is varied so you can stay in the shallow end to enjoy the waves or you can be adventurous and head out to the deep end to brave the waves. The wave pool can get crowded during the waves so it's best for only strong swimmers to venture into the deep end when the waves are coming.

The other and newest water park is Disney's Blizzard Beach. This water park features the unique theme of a ski resort in Central Florida. With the theme revolving around what would happen if it snowed in Florida, Disney's Blizzard Beach is a fun and exciting part of Walt Disney World in Florida. This water park is home to one of the highest water chute rides. This towering slide is modeled after the highest ski slope in the mountain range and is only for the adventurous. For those who don't wish to go quite so high to ride the attractions, there are several other rides and pools where you can spend your day. The entire park is themed like a ski resort and the rides are divided according to difficulty just like a ski resort's mountains. This is a fun and exciting new water park at Walt Disney World in Florida.

With a wide variety of attractions and pools for people of all ages and swimming expertise, there is something for everybody at both of these water parks.
